The C.A.R.E. SFU Global Travel Award Program has funded air travel for students volunteering abroad with not-for-profit organizations since 2010.

The award, distributed by C.A.R.E. Society, makes air travel possible with donated Asia Miles points for students working in civic engagement, international service learning, and humanitarian work. 855,000 air mile points were awarded in 2010 to SFU students volunteering for organizations located in countries such as Kenya, South Africa, Bolivia, and the Philippines. Past award recipients have worked for organizations such as Light & Love HomeAIPE, and the Council for Health and Development.
