Studying abroad at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) allowed me to take specialized courses not available at SFU, experience a different educational system, and meet a diverse group of people. This enriched my academic knowledge and cultural understanding, significantly enhancing my overall educational journey.
My exchange semester at NUS was undoubtedly one of the best times of my life. Experiencing the diverse academic and cultural environment there broadened my horizons, enhanced my academic knowledge, and significantly enriched my personal growth.
It was an eye-opening experience that enabled me to better understand myself, gain more independence, and test my capabilities. I have gained a greater perspective on the world and how life differs in terms of cultures, customs, traditions and values in different countries compared to Canada
My exchange to Singapore was one of the highlights of my university career. From indulging in amazing foods to exploring the city-state's vibrant cultural tapestry, it was a transformative learning experience I'm sure never to forget.
Going on exchange was the best decision I have made during my time at SFU. I studied at Uppsala University from August 2023 to January 2024, and now that I’ve returned to Canada, I have more direction for what I want to pursue after I graduate and I feel much more independent, confident, and comfortable navigating new experiences and surprises.
The challenges and achievements that I encountered during the exchange made me more resilient and prepared for the next chapter of my life. I am confident that this experience will assist me to successfully complete my degree at SFU.
