I founded our club, SANITY, because I realized that it was hard for me to discipline myself, but when I got someone else involved I found it easier to achieve my goals. Our club is about trying to create a community where people hold each other accountable throughout the semester. For example, if you have a goal of working out more or getting good grades, we’ll provide a community, resources, and mentorship for your goal so that you can achieve it.

Something I’m trying to achieve now is waking up at 5:30 AM, and in order to do that, I send a Snapchat to my friend at that time. During our meetings, we discuss ways to improve things like confidence and communication, and how to become a better individual. One of the most important things we do in our meetings is build guiding principles and values for ourselves, so we can all take these principles forward after we graduate. The most valuable thing we’ve gained from this club is friendships with each other, because we’re all building on a collective goal, and that really helps to build relationships.
