The CIBC Career Access Program (CCAP) (https://www.cibc.com/ca/inside-cibc/careers/equity-and-diversity/career-access.html) is a unique program designed to help Aboriginal people find employment and build a career at CIBC.
CIBC Career Access Program
This program is designed to promote opportunities in the workforce for people of Aboriginal heritage and people with disabilities. It involves two specific activities:
Outreach in the community to attract appropriately qualified job applicants
Support of applicants throughout the hiring process
Outreach involves liaising with many external organizations that serve people with disabilities and Aboriginal peoples, advertising job vacancies and job readiness training opportunities. It also involves CIBC’s participation in career fairs at community-based events, where we encourage qualified candidates to apply.
The CIBC Career Access Program (CCAP) consists of three distinct pathways to provide the support that best suits your unique skills and experience:
How to Request Support
While applying for support through CCAP is voluntary, an initial eligibility requirement is that people entering into this program be of Aboriginal descent, a person with a disability, or both. Before requesting support, please use the definitions below to ensure you belong to one or both of these groups.
Aboriginal Peoples are defined as persons who are North American Indian (Status or Non-Status), Inuit or Métis.
Persons with disabilities are individuals with long-term or recurring physical, mental, sensory, psychiatric or learning impairments that either they or potential employers view as being a disadvantage in gaining or maintaining employment.
