In the Fall of 2022, I attended IE Business University in the capital city of Spain, Madrid. As a business major, it was fascinating to see Madrid's development and economic activities. Before the exchange semester, I had not travelled to Europe and was exactly sure what I was getting myself into. Nonetheless, I was very excited to go on exchange, given that I waited around two to three years for this opportunity.

Madrid offered an unparalleled opportunity to immerse myself in the culture and business landscape of the country. My passion for international business and global cultures has led me to enroll in various classes offered at IE University, which has provided me with invaluable experiences and skills.

The city's rich cultural and historical background provided me with a unique perspective on business and international trade. Receiving this award allowed me to participate in the exchange program, travel around Europe, and gain a global perspective on my studies. The opportunity to visit other countries exposed me to other countries' cultures, economies, and business practices which gave me a chance to gain a broader perspective on the global business landscape and how different countries operate.

My exchange program had free Spanish language courses for exchange students, and I took that opportunity to learn Spanish for the first time. This class not only helped me to improve my Spanish language skills but also allowed me to learn more about the culture and customs of Spain. I had to step outside my comfort zone when practicing speaking with my peers and listening in a real-life setting. It helped me to feel more confident and comfortable communicating with native Spanish speakers.

Overall, receiving this award is a significant factor that made this experience absolutely incredible. I am grateful for the life-changing experience.
