When I initially got interested in cryptocurrency, I was really fascinated by how it went up and down; it seemed like a stock market to me. I became really fascinated by blockchain’s possible applications and its benefits to industries, so my friends and I started a club called SFU Blockchain.

It’s been amazing to see students’ interest in blockchain. It’s not easy starting from the ground up, but if you are passionate about something, nothing is impossible. Currently we are doing a lot of marketing and event planning. Our main goal is to explain the idea of blockchain in a way that is easily digestible for anyone.

I actually never planned on starting a club. I was looking for a club like this and I couldn't find one. If there is something that you are really passionate about, more likely than not your peers are going to share that interest. If a club doesn't exist, just start it.
