Choosing to study abroad during my time at SFU has been one of the best decisions I've ever made. Uppsala University was founded in 1477, and I have been lucky to experience some of the university's traditions such as the Flogsta scream and joining a student nation. I have also become particularly fond of Swedish fika- a short coffee break! Uppsala is located a short train ride from Stockholm, so I have been able to explore both the big city of Stockholm and also the smaller student town of Uppsala.

Going abroad has given me the opportunity to meet students from all over the world, learn more about different cultures, histories, and languages, and even travel a bit! I've gained more insight into what I want to pursue after university and have a better idea of what I want my future to look like. I highly recommend everyone to consider studying abroad as it is a once in a lifetime experience!
