May is Asian Heritage Month, making it an opportune time to recognize and honor the diverse contributions and achievements of Asian Canadians in Canada. From cultural contributions to the arts, music, food, and fashion, to breakthroughs in science and technology, and leadership in business and public service, Asian Canadians have propelled Canadian society forward. However, despite their many accomplishments, Asian Canadians often face what is known as the "bamboo ceiling" – a set of invisible barriers that can prevent professionals from advancing in their careers. These barriers may include stereotypes and biases based on race, culture, and language, as well as limited opportunities for promotion and advancement.
