Volunteering here is a way of giving back to the community. It’s something I have been doing since I was young so anywhere I can get involved, debating, health science, I’ve done as much as I could on and off campus while keeping studies in mind.

I see the Centre as an open space to practice, and get to know others. Knowing it’s a safe space and seeing everyone get along made me want to get involved and stay involved.

One of my most memorable moments was non-violence day. Everyone collaborated; everyone brought a speaker for non-violence from their own religion. It’s important to have that kind of communication in our community, especially now when Islam is seen as bad in media. It was a chance to speak of peace with other people in the Interfaith center which was good because and we had a great turnout.
