Meet one of our mentors Kajal, a FASS Peer Mentor, Senior Welcome Leader and SFU Surrey TD Racing Reader. She has amazing tips and tricks to prepare you through the university experience.

"Hello! My name is Kajal and I am a fourth-year student pursuing a joint major in Psychology and Business. I am currently in my first remote Co-op term as a Client Experience Coordinator at an IT solutions company called Microserve. In my spare time, I enjoy going for hikes with my dog, playing board games, and baking with my family and friends."

What are you currently Studying?

"Psychology has always been interesting to me. I am fascinated by the ways in which people are motivated to make personal decisions in life. Business, on the other hand, allows me to diversity my knowledge, as well as, is applicable to any aspect of life."

Do you have any advice for new students?

"I would urge students to appreciate what they have and to try new things, especially during this pressing time. Sometimes life can move super fast but it is kind of a halt now and therefore it's important to take in the smallest of moments and be grateful for what life has offered and continues to offer us. As much as COVID has negatively affected us, I think it also has brought upon us many opportunities. Technology has changed our lives more than ever and I think it has proven how we can still remain connected virtually."
