Think about what you would ask a reference to get a sense of what an employee is actually like. Is it important to ask if they were always on time? Or are you more concerned about their ability to juggle multiple deadlines?

If you don't have experience in this, think about your course work. What have you done/learned in your courses that would help you if you were given these tasks?

Think of what you would want to see in a new team member. Is it honesty? Integrity? That they actually have the skills you are looking for? Are you looking for a sales leader that thrives on being at the forefront of conversations and pushing boundaries? Or do you need someone in more of a support role that thrives on details and rules?
