The name of the organization I worked for during my first co-op work term is MineSense Technologies Ltd. MineSense is a B.C. mining company that produces one-of-a-kind technology to increase the sustainability of ore mining. We are a global company and have a presence in Chile, Peru, USA, and Zambia.
My role as a Human Resources Co-op involves supporting onboarding, taking lead on the full recruitment cycle of Co-op roles, and admin work. I also do a bit of event planning for company socials and initiatives.
As my role is hybrid, I wanted to show the difference between what working from home and in person at the office looked like. Videos are an effective way for my audience to visualize and put themselves in my point of view. Developing a video was useful as it allowed me to reflect back on the number of things I have accomplished and enhanced my storytelling abilities. The ability to story tell will hopefully inspire other students to join the co-op program at SFU or show co-op students what they can expect during their first work term.
