My job at the SFSS as the Accessibility Designated Assistant helped me learn about what steps SFU could take to raise awareness of disability issues and make campus events more accessible. From there, I channeled my passion for understanding disabilities and the stigma surrounding them into my work with the Autism Lab & Developmental Disabilities Lab, eventually doing a directed studies project with them in my last term.

It’s hard to pinpoint just one favourite memory throughout my entire university life, but one of my most memorable experiences was being an advisor with Student Services. It really helped make me more comfortable having meaningful conversations with others

I don’t think I’d be where I am today without my family, especially my mom, who made so many sacrifices to help me succeed academically and personally. As for my friends, I credit them for providing me with encouragement and awesome memories that I’ll cherish forever.

After graduation, I hope to pursue grad school or some further schooling, either in social work, public policy, or HR. For now, I’ll be trying to find work, gain some volunteering experience, and figure things out before I apply for anything else!
