Position Title

I am currently completing my co-op term as a Purchasing Administrator with Microserve. As a Purchasing Administrator, I am responsible for consistently updating ETAs on purchase orders through various vendors to ensure stakeholders and clients are updated with accurate information, that the product will reach expected dates, and to second source where possible. I audit sales orders and create purchase orders to ensure accuracy when ordering products from vendors for our end users and clients. I maintain strong business relationships with external vendors and internal teams such as sales, order management, and warehouses to resolve any issues or inquires regarding orders and to minimize any delivery discrepancies. Programs used include Microsoft 365 Suite and ConnectWise Manage.

I have learned how to effectively communicate with different teams to ensure accurate information is being received and shared. I have strengthened my ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, whether working with a team or as an individual. I have also managed high volumes of work while demonstrating my ability to stay organized and prioritize tasks through time management skills. My greatest accomplishments during my work term include developing my critical thinking and problem-solving skills by using available resources and information to address issues. With the information I have, I can ask meaningful, effective, and constructive questions to strengthen my knowledge and experiences. Additionally, I have provided functional and effective training for new hires and colleagues to aid in transitioning to new work and understanding task execution. Similarly, I was able to provide support to all my team members and members of other departments.

During my work term, I didn't just focus on tasks but embraced new experiences. I chose to work in the office twice a week, connecting with colleagues from various departments and participating in company-wide events, including cream puff baking night, chocolate making night, ice skating night, and the company holiday party. I engaged with fellow co-op students through Co-op Connect, ultimately becoming a facilitator for these sessions. I donated blood for the first time and even volunteered to present in front of about 50 attendees. This experience meant more than just work; it was about personal growth and making the most out of my co-op journey.
