Volunteering is a good way to get exposed to the real world, I believe students have a lot to gain and nothing to lose.

I heard about the Canadian Mental Health Association opportunity through email and I applied for the position, because it was related to my psychology major and business minor. When I got the interview I was back in Mauritius and I had to do a Skype interview to get the volunteer position.

My favorite thing about it is meeting new people who are genuine and really care about the world. You get a lot of experience and autonomy and also gain skills that you need to help other people.
