Position Title

Being a Career Peer, I like to help other students, and I like to see how my results work. Students were able to come back and say “Hey we were able to accomplish this or we were able to get this position”. There was one time a student came to me for help with resume and cover letters, and then they came back later on to get help with the interviews. And that’s really fulfilling to see that the help that I gave them for the resume and cover letter helped them pass the first step of getting an interview.

There has definitely been time that I had some issues which I don’t know the answers for students’ questions, and I really didn’t want to give them inaccurate information. So I usually either check our online resources or ask my Career Peer supervisor. I think the main thing I gained from this is the connections and the people that I’ve met. I really got to know everyone volunteering here – and that’s my favorite thing about volunteering. I’ve been able to make a lot of friends, including my best friends here.
