I’m currently a Volunteer Coordinator for the mini BIG Fair with Career and Volunteer Services. Through this role, I’ve gotten to meet people and network with exhibitors; it’s a cool opportunity and it has helped me enhance my communication and leadership skills as well.
Volunteering has given me the opportunity to meet new people and experience various roles within the university. I didn’t really volunteer in my first year, but once I started in my second year, I regretted not starting sooner.
There’s so many cool opportunities to explore, and they can lead you to other things, too like gaining new skills, and learning about new positions across the university. It also gives you the opportunity to really get to know yourself. No matter the role, you get to know your likes and dislikes. It’s a great way to figure yourself out and build your character.
