"In PSYC 393 (Research Engagement), I worked in the Autism and Developmental Disabilities Lab with Dr. Grace Larocci and graduate student Troy Boucher. My experiences were surrounding the backend work on a research laboratory. I worked closely with Troy in translating data from questionnaire software into excel documents for him to later decipher, and also conducted literature reviews for Troy regarding his research on Autism and associated stigma. From the literature reviews, I was able to get a better grasp on how specific a research question can be and how much research is necessary in building up a valuable foundation on the topic you are interested in.

The aspect of most value to me has been how this course has propelled me in the direction I have always, and partially unknowingly, wanted to go. I have had a sincere passion for helping people with disabilities, and I am thrilled to have been introduced to such amazing people who can help me along this path."
