Position Title

"Co-op has given me the opportunity to gain unique experiences that you would never get in the lecture hall. This summer, I was hired as a Research Analyst with Precision Xtract, a consultancy that conducts Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) primarily for pharmaceutical companies. My colleagues and I compile current data on a client's drug such as its efficacy, safety, economic cost, etc. This research supports clients in future drug development. My favourite part about the position is that I get to learn about different diseases and the current therapeutics used to treat them. When it comes to advice for students considering Co-op, apply as soon as you can! When I joined Co-op, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do post grad, but after working in different positions and trying many different things, I can confidently say I have a much clearer future direction."

Seana Semchishen is a 5th year Psychology Honours student who is currently completing a Co-op term at Precision Xtract. She previously completed a Co-op at Canadian Heritage and is involved on campus as a Research Assistant in the Behavioural Endocrinology Lab, Editor for the SFU OLC, and Volunteer for the Student Ambassador Program.
