C2U Expo is a conference based in North America that focuses on different social issues including advocacy for human rights, feminism, and rights for those with disabilities.

As the Transportation Assistant, I helped guide the guests of this conference to the SFU Downtown campus while introducing them to SFU and Downtown Vancouver along the way. I also made some souvenirs with the disabled participants.

This experience not only allowed me to work with a team, but also allowed me to learn from the speakers; they did not only want to become better people, they wanted to help those who are struggling as well.

My most memorable experience is of making souvenirs with a disabled woman, because she talked with me about her life experiences. She’s really talented in the Arts field. She suffered a lot, and she didn’t see this as a burden but instead as an opportunity for personal growth. I was glad to see her devoted to what she loves and I was really happy I could spend time with her.
