Episode Description
This podcast was recorded via Zoom during COVID-19. Research has shown that during the pandemic, eating disorder risk and symptoms have been on the rise so we hope that this podcast is able to help support you and/or help you in supporting someone you know who may be struggling with disordered eating habits.
Join us for another episode of the Health Peer’s Podcast series: Let’s TACO about Nutrition. In today’s episode, we will be talking about Body Acceptance. We will be diving into conversations around the juxtaposition between body positivity vs. body acceptance, influence of social media, and practice of intuitive eating. Be sure to stay tuned for our next podcast where we will be talking about disordered eating habits: what they are, how to spot the signs and where to go for help.
For this podcast episode, we will be using resources and references from the National Eating Disorder Information Centre (NEDIC), a non-profit group based out of the University Health Network in Toronto, Ontario. All of the Health Peers had the opportunity to attend a workshop hosted by a NEDIC staff member. We are grateful for the chance to share some of what we learned with all of you.
