Berlin has been life changing, and this experience abroad in Germany has been one of the best adventures of my life to date. This summer I had the opportunity to attend The Berlin Field School through SFU’s School for Contemporary Arts. As an up and coming artist, studying in Berlin has provided exposure to a plethora of art and culture. Such access to galleries, artist collectives, performances, cultural events, and architecture have been incredibly inspiring and motivating to my art practice.

Through this field school I was able to meet with curators, artists, and writers. Interacting and learning from an array of people that work in disciplines in my area of study in person has made me excited for the career journey ahead. I look forward to engaging in more adventures abroad during my educational journey and career and can’t wait to find out how I will grow during that time! So, if you’re still thinking about signing up for the study abroad, do it. The new people, skills, and perspectives you gain will transform you into a more well-rounded person and teach you so much about yourself.
