Organization

Over the past 8-months, I have become a more versatile and well-rounded individual. I have been responsible for multiple administrative tasks such as depositing cheques, creating invoices and responding to emails and phone calls. I have supported sales representatives in expanding the number of products sold at select grocery store chains. Additionally, I was in charge of all the social media campaigns. This dealt with content creation, posting, and studying the algorithm. The educational content has reached up to +15K views and led to +100 followers on Instagram. Lastly, I was accountable for managing the storefront. Here I would monitor the Shopify account to see if new orders were placed.

On top of that, I would maintain inventory accuracy and organization. This allowed for seamless interactions with customers which lead me to increase total sales by 60% compared to the previous year. I have learned numerous new skills from these projects. For example, I have developed notable skills in operating the Accountek Connected Accounting ERP Software. I used this application every day to prepare invoices and sales orders. I also strengthened my MS Excel and PowerPoint skills. Every month I updated our promo calendar, price list, and sell sheets. I applied formulas and shortcuts to work more efficiently. I have been able to improve my communication skills by answering calls and emails. I answered in a professional tone and recorded any notes that the customers were requesting. I exercised my teamwork skills by observing when my colleagues were stressed and asking if there was anything that I could do to help. Moreover, I strengthened my organizational skills by cleaning the store and sorting the products. I made sure every item had a place by using bins and labels. This allowed everyone to easily find and shop for products.

I will continuously apply all my learnings in the future whether it be doing the same tasks or approaching a new one. I now know how important it is to start a task with an open mind and always think of creative ways that I can do better next time. There is always room for improvement and I should never let one negative outcome determine my motivation for the next project. I have greatly enjoyed my co-op at Falesca Importing Ltd. I have had the chance to work with such a great team who truly treats me like family. I will always be thankful for how they have supported me and guided me throughout these past few months. I know that I would not be the student that I am today if I had not accepted this position 8-months ago.
