"I decided to major in Psychology after volunteering at the Autism and Developmental Disorders Lab (ADDL) in high school. Having grown up with a diagnosis of autism, I decided to volunteer here to learn more about my own disability. While supervising the Social Science camp at the lab, I saw children with autism having fun and enjoying each other’s company, which sparked a desire to help people with disabilities in whatever context possible. Psychology was the ideal program for me to do so. After graduation, I would be interested in specializing my career goals towards helping people with disabilities or going into counselling.” ⁣
