Episode Description

This podcast was recorded via Zoom during COVID-19. Research has shown that during the pandemic, eating disorder risk and symptoms have been on the rise so we hope that this podcast is able to help support you and/or help you in supporting someone you know who may be struggling with disordered eating habits.

In this episode of the Health Peer’s Podcast series: Let’s TACO about Nutrition, we will be talking about disordered eating, including its prevalence, the eating-weight concern continuum, how to spot the signs of disordered eating, the risk factors for disordered eating, and how to support someone experiencing disordered eating.

For this podcast episode, we will be using resources and references from the National Eating Disorder Information Centre (NEDIC), a non-profit group based out of the University Health Network in Toronto, Ontario. All of the Health Peers had the opportunity to attend a workshop hosted by a NEDIC staff member. We are grateful for the chance to share some of what we learned and their slides with all of you.
