Whenever I get involved, I try to gain as many new skills as I can so that I’m a well-rounded candidate when I enter the workforce. My personal development and skill-set grew exponentially once I joined the Student Marketing Association.
The club brings together students who are intrinsically motivated to improve public speaking and networking; if it weren’t for this like-minded support system of people cheering me on, I probably wouldn’t have been able to push myself outside my comfort zone.
One of the projects I worked on was our Business Development Program, which connects students with local businesses who need marketing support. I liked how we were able to give our peers the chance to work on hands-on projects that they might not get to in class.
