Every year during the Festival time, Granville Island is surrounded with children’s laughter and excitement; along with the hard work of many volunteers and staff from the Vancouver area and around the world.

I have been with the Festival for 3+ years, starting as a Key Volunteer that coordinated students from my high school to volunteer at the Festival. During the Festival, I would try different positions offered to expand my personal comfort zone. I have kept coming back to volunteer because this experience has provided me with numerous opportunities and allowed me to learn so much that couldn’t possibly be learned in school.
