I was the Social Media Coordinator for a conference that looked at how City of Surrey could make it easier for Surrey youth to transition to adulthood. I covered the event, running around to take pictures and tweeting about what was going on.

The conference brought high school students together to discuss how the community could be better for them – what programs could be developed, how schools could create new opportunities for students. Hanging out with these kids and watching them give the adults a whole new perspective was so, so special. They were young but they still wanted to make a difference.

The best part of all my time as a volunteer has to be the people I’ve met. I’ve met so many bright and genuinely good people who want to make change. They make everyone around them want to do more.
