“Romantic relationships can be difficult, but at times we have a desire to seek them. Why are we constantly driven back to seek more of it? Maybe it’s because romantic relationships can provide support, motivation, and a sense of fulfilment in one’s life. Learning about such underlying functions, and helping individuals develop and maintain healthy romantic relationships is why I decided to participate in the Couple’s Lab, led by Dr. Rebecca Cobb. The lab seeks to understand how romantic relationships change over time by examining how factors such as psychological health, attachment security, and communication can affect couples' relationship and sexual satisfaction.”⁣⁣

Kimia Karami is a fourth-year Psychology Major (Human Counselling and Development Minor) who is currently a research assistant for Dr. Rebecca Cobb’s Couple’s Lab, Co-Coordinator for Hi-FIVE, and Member at Large for the SFU Psychology Student Union.
